Sakai Takayuki is the flagship brand of Aoki Hamono, a respected knife manufacturer located in Sakai, Japan. The company draws upon a regional blade-making tradition spanning approximately 600 years and works with skilled craftsmen to produce knives for professional and home kitchens.
This 150mm kengata petty features an SG2 powder stainless steel core hardened to approximately 63-64 HRC for excellent edge retention and corrosion resistance. Its compact blade and pointed tip work well for trimming meat, portioning fruit, preparing smaller vegetables, and making precise cuts. The mirror-polished blade combines layered Damascus cladding with a tsuchime hammered texture that catches the light from different angles. Each knife is sharpened by hand before leaving the workshop.
Care Instructions: Hand wash and dry the knife promptly after each use. Do not place it in a dishwasher or allow it to soak in water. SG2 is stainless but can still discolor or corrode if neglected. Use a quality sharpening stone when the edge requires maintenance.Brand: Sakai Takayuki
